I grew up in a small seaside town then moved to Southampton to study a degree in Events Management. After my degree I worked for a year, saving money to travel. In March 2014 I left England for 9 months to travel and volunteer on farms, eco-communities and a sustainable community library. Many years before the day I travelled I had suffered in silence with mental illness that crippled and tortured me to internal despair, but during my travels something changed within me. I awoke to a realisation of myself and the world I was living in and committed to changing. After battling through alcohol addiction, drug abuse, loneliness, anxiety, depression and dis-connection there came a way out; there is hope, and there is authentic happiness.
