I grew up in a small seaside town then moved to Southampton to study a degree in Events Management. After my degree I worked in a blues music pub for a year, saving money to travel. In March 2014 I left England for 9 months starting at a self-sufficient library community project in Italy and with no further plans but to let the universe guide me. Many years before the day I travelled I had suffered in silence with mental illness that crippled and tortured me to internal despair, but during my travels something changed within me. I awoke to a realisation of myself and the world I was living in and committed to changing. The journey has been a continuous battle through alcohol addiction, drug abuse, loneliness, anxiety, depression and dis-connection but there is a way out, there is hope, and there is authentic happiness.
